What It’s For

CitraSlim is one of five products in the Young Living Slique line designed to help keep you in a healthy weight management routine. Formulated with plant derived extracts that support healthy weight, metabolism, energy levels, as well as help to burn fat, this supplement is the whole package when it comes to reaching all of your healthy weight goals.

It works by helping the body break down triglycerides, a form of fat storage unusable by the body as energy. However, once broken down, these triglycerides release free fatty acids that the body can use as energy, thus eliminating them from the body.

PRECAUTION: losing weight too fast can be dangerous and even puts you at higher risk to rebound. To lose weight in the healthiest, most permanent way, it’s recommended to lose no more than 1-2 pounds per week. Crash diets = bad diets, people!

Ingredient Highlights

Slique CitraSlim packs a punch with a wide array of citrus oils as well as plant based ingredients that provide polyphenols and antioxidants. Polyphenols are interesting; we don’t know exactly what they do. This is because they do so much that it makes it hard to pen-point their exact function. What we do know is that people with a diet high in polyphenols tend to be healthier and have lower body weights than those with less polyphenol-rich diets.

Polyphenols are actually astringents which means they shrink body tissues. Pomegranates and red wines (both rich in astringents) get their signature puckering taste because the polyphenols in them physically shrink the cells within your mouth. We love some of that!

Another interesting ingredient in CitraSlim is cinnatrol. Clinical studies have shown that cinnatrol decreases hip and waist circumference and diminishes abdominal fat while still maintaining the lean muscle mass. This is important because many weight management supplements end up burning muscle instead of fat, which we do not want! It also may help protect against oxidative stress in two ways. 1) by destroying malondialdehyde and 2) by increasing superoxide dismutase which goes through the body and powerfully scavenges free radicals. Being a dismzutase means it literally goes around and finds things that are mutated and dis-mutates them. Additionally, cinnatrol increases levels of glutathione which makes fatty toxins water-soluble. Once water-soluble, they can be excreted from the body in the urine (for a deeper explanation, check out the Sulfurzyme video).

CitraSlim wouldn’t be a Young Living supplement without its essential oils! Ocotea, spearmint, cassia, fennel, lemongrass, lemon, myrtle, and Idaho balsam fir make for a high-citral content supplement, formulated to boost the metabolism.

Last but not least, CitraSlim contains digestive enzymes. These help break down foods and release all of the energy and nutritional content of what you eat.

Who Should Take CitraSlim

CitraSlim is great for those looking for a healthy weight management support. Whether you choose to use the entire Slique line or not, this supplement is a great addition to your routine.

The Slique line is not recommended for anyone:

  • under the age of 18
  • with a cardiovascular disease (the powerful essential oils contained in this specific supplement may make it unsuitable for you. Talk to doctor or pharmacist before embarking on any healthy weight management system.)
  • pregnant or nursing (be gentle with yourself. Although I do not see anything alarming with taking CitraSlim while you’re in this phase, I personally wouldn’t use it. Energetically, it doesn’t feel right to me to take a weight management supplement during a time in your life when you need to be putting on body weight. However, if you do choose to take it, be aware that 1-10% of the essential oils in this supplement will make it into the breastmilk.)
