What It’s For

Melissa is a great to calm overstimulated nerves and bring a feeling of peacefulness. Because it is so therapeutic for skin, we find it in many skincare products and implements, like ART Gentle Cleanser.

It also opens the heart chakra, thereby assisting us to give and receive love appropriately. It provides endurance when we seek grace under pressure and can increase positivity as well.

Constituent Highlight

Geranial is the key constituent of Melissa. This aldehyde can help reduce bodily inflammation and ease the perception of pain. Also found in lemongrass and lemon myrtle, this constituent imparts the lemony citrus aroma to Melissa as well.

Who Should Use Melissa Essential Oil

Because Melissa is a low-yield plant, the essential oil is quite expensive. If you are lucky enough to own a bottle, use it to help calm nerves, or add it to your skincare routine for a luxurious aroma and silky smooth skin. This oil is suitable for adults, children, and even animals. Check out this post for tips for using lemon balm and other essential oils to soothe pets.

Companion Products

Melissa combines well with floral aromas, like lavender and ylang ylang. It also makes a wonderful addition to Boswelia Wrinkle Cream.
