The flavor and aroma of bergamot essential oil impart the unique flavor to Earl Grey tea, but the therapeutic benefits extend way beyond just a pleasant aroma.

What It’s For

The sweet, tart aroma of bergamot is a favorite for perfumes and personal scents, as well as diffuser blends. It helps to calm erratic energy and create a relaxing atmosphere. Ayurvedic benefits include relief from fear and other negative emotions. Applied topically, this essential oil also has skin-cleansing properties. However, bergamot can cause photosensitivity, so avoid applying before spending time in the sun.

Constituent Highlight

Like many other citrus essential oils, bergamot contains high concentrations of limonene. This constituent is energizing, soothing to the digestive system and calming to the mind. It also contains α-Pinene, which focuses and concentrates the mind.

Who Should Use Bergamot Essential Oil

The lovely fragrance of bergamot can bring an uplifting aroma to just about any space. This is an essential oil that few people dislike. So if you want an agreeable aroma and soothing, relaxing benefits, try some bergamot in the diffuser!

Companion Products
